The Holiday Directory

Welcome to WILD FRONTIERS, a UK-based adventure travel company specialising Horse riding and trekking holidays in stylish and original small group tours and tailored holidays to some of the most interesting countries in the world.

Our exciting itineraries, ranging in price from £995 to £3250, combine a unique blend of luxury and adventure, a variety of transport and activities and fascinating cross-cultural interaction. We uncover the lives of the people as well as exploring the landscape, history, culture and cuisine and ultimately leave our clients with the warm satisfaction of having journeyed beneath each region's surface and discovered the heartbeat within.

Horse Treks.
In our opinion there are few better ways of witnessing the wonders of nature than enjoying the exciting and exhilarating adventure of horse trekking. To be up in the mountains on a fine local horse, drifting through the tall grass, across crystal streams and wild open steppe lands, above and beyond the worries of mankind with only the eagles and the nomads for company, is a truly uplifting experience.

Likewise to ride through Indian villages where few westerners have ventured, to gallop over the North African deserts or witness the extraordinary landscapes of Cappadocia from the saddle, are experiences that are sure to stay with you for a very long time.

At Wild Frontiers we believe that certain countries lend themselves perfectly to this kind of adventure holiday.

We currently have trips running to seven locations and this number is constantly on the rise… mainly as WF’s head honcho, Jonny Bealby – author of Silk Dreams, Troubled Road: On Horseback through Central Asia – is rather partial to these trips and is constantly on the look out for saddling up some new adventures. He will be leading the new Ecuador trip in Feb 2008

Short Walks and Treks.
Take a walk on the wild side!
Knowing that some of you have neither the time nor the inclination for long trekking holidays but would still like to explore some of the world’s most beautiful, remote and interesting mountain ranges, we have put together a portfolio of stunning adventures focused around – but not solely comprising of – a good mountain walk.

Anyone familiar with Eric Newby’s travel classic A Short Walk in the Hindu Kush will know that short does not necessarily mean easy and that walk is something of an understatement. Although anyone in a good state of health should be able to cope with most of these mini-treks, all of them will have you going home feeling like you have had a real adventure.

And with the shortest running for just a week and the longest for 12 days, they are perfect for anyone with time restrictions.
In 2008 we will be running Short Walks in the Georgian Caucasus, the Indian Himalayas, the Simiens of Ethiopia, Pakistan’s Hindu Kush, Mount Nebo in Jordan and the Moroccan Atlas.
